Rebirth

Happy New Year everyone! 2012 has finally arrived, and Freelancing to Freedom is back – I hope you like the new theme (and photos!). As promised, I’ve spent some time reflecting over the past few weeks on where I would like to take my blog in the years to come.

The next month might be a bit of a work in progress, so bear with me. Words are my career and one of my greatest passions, and so I will continue to write about my life as a freelance editor and the tips and tricks I learn along the way in the hopes that you can identify with and hopefully benefit from my experiences, fellow freelancers.

This year, however, I would like to expand my blog to include other passions that I’ve been eager to write about, such as yoga and music, both of which have benefitted my career as a freelancer. In this way, I also hope to appeal to those who are not freelancers but share some of my other passions.

Every month, I set goals in five categories: Financial, Health, Spiritual, Personal, and Career. In this blog, each week, I’ll share a goal that I’m focusing on and then discuss how I met, failed to meet, or made progress towards this goal in my business and personal life.

At the risk of babbling, I’ll stop now by saying I’m so excited for the year ahead and look forward to connecting with you in one way or another.

This week’s goal: Truly be present when engaging with others, whether in person, on the phone, or over email.

My song of the week: “Lonely Boy” – The Black Keys. (Oh yeah, I’m going to share a song each week! And I’m always looking for new music, so if you have a gem, let me know.)

Namaste 🙂

Rachel
