So, this post is a bit different than the ones I usually write, but as a business owner, I need to advertise every once in a while, so bear with me. A few weeks ago, I was again reminded of how important it is as a freelancer to get your name out there, network, and be open to new opportunities. I was standing in line at Starbucks (not my usual coffee haunt of choice – I steer more towards local, but on this particular day I wanted a Starbucks latte – nothing else would suffice!) and had been working at a fellow freelancer’s house that day, so I had my laptop bag with me.
Something funny happened behind the counter (not funny enough to remember, however), and I shared a laugh with a couple of guys behind me. One of the guys then started making chit-chat. Noticing my bag, he asked what I did for work. “A freelance editor? Maybe we could be of some help to each other.”
Turns out he owns an IT consulting firm. We agreed to meet for lunch the following week. It was then that he told me, in no uncertain terms, that my website was . . . not good. And in the interests of building a business relationship, he offered to do my website in exchange for some editing work. I’m sure most of you who follow my blog regularly have seen my website – I made it myself to save money, and it showed. While having the best website on the block has never been my goal, it sure is nice to now have a totally professional one, thanks to a random meeting in Starbucks.
So check it out – the new and improved Faultless Finish Editing website: http://www.faultlessfinishediting.com
Thanks for reading. And thanks, Instalogic, for the professional and very efficient service! I would highly recommend the company to any business.
Namaste 🙂
The new site looks great! I’ll be sure to recommend Instalogic to friends looking to spruce up their sites (and may even need to partake of their services myself in the future haha).
