Week 3

It was a very exciting week! On Wednesday I officially landed my first freelance gig! I’ll be copy editing a non-fiction manuscript for a local publisher over the next two weeks. For those of you who don’t know, copy editing is the most nit-picky type of editing (checking grammar, spelling, punctuation). I also received an email from a potential fiction client; she’s written a young adult novel and is interested in having her manuscript evaluated. I read a sample chapter and gave her a quote. Since fiction is my ultimate focus, I’m really hoping for the chance to work on this. I never expected the ball to get rolling so quickly. The importance of discipline and putting in that little extra research effort every day has quickly become clear in these first few weeks. And it’s a lot easier to be disciplined when you’re doing something you love! Have a great week!
